What Agents Can Do To End 2015 With a Bang

We all know that the busiest seasons in the real estate business are late spring and early summer. We also know that there isn’t usually much activity in terms of new listings during the holidays.

However, you don’t have to spend the last two months of the year laying on the couch watching football. There are still plenty of opportunities for motivated agents to get deals done, or at the very least position themselves to get more deals in the future.

Here are some of our favorite ideas to push your real estate business forward and finish 2015 with a bang.

Get Creative With Your Listings

Once the calendar ticks into November, your chances of selling any existing listings before the end of the year basically fall off of a cliff. In order to compensate for this, you are going to have to get really creative.

Look for unique ways to market the property like hosting an open house in the form of a holiday party, or decorating the house for Christmas and encouraging buyers to close so that they can enjoy the holidays in a new home.

Join a Networking Group

While it might be hard to move existing listings or get new ones during the holidays, this is actually the best time of year to expand your circle of influence through networking.

Ask around and see if you can find a local networking group that you might be able to join. Many of these groups are designed to encourage members to pass referrals to each other. And in the real estate business, those referrals are like gold!

Plan a Holiday Party

Hosting a holiday party is a great way to combine the first two ideas and create a networking environment at one of your listings. Even if you aren’t able to host a party at one of your listings, having one at your home or office is great for networking.

Line Up Prospects For Spring

While you are working on networking and creatively pushing your existing listings, you should also be talking to people who are looking to buy or sell in the coming year. Get these people into your CRM system and make sure you follow up with them at the appropriate time.

Having plenty of leads like this in your sales funnel will make sure that you are also able to start 2016 with a bang!

Establish Your Online Presence

Since this is the slowest time of the year when it comes to actual listings and showings, it is a perfect time to focus on establishing or improving your online presence.

If you have given any thought to putting together a blog or a better social media strategy, now is the perfect time to get that going. Then once business picks up in 2016 you will have the foundation in place to capitalize on it.

Study Your Competition

Not every agent is slow during the holidays. Pay attention to which agents in your office are still doing business this month and study what they are doing differently from the agents that aren’t busy.

Emulating the best practices of successful agents is the best way to become a successful agent yourself.

As we head closer and closer towards the end of 2015, there are still plenty of things that you can be doing everyday to build your real estate business. No matter where you are relative to your goals for the year, keep pushing hard and close out the year with a bang.
